Hosted by two life-long Cornish pals, Piccalilli Tuesdays is a joyful, quirky ramble through all things creative - from fine art to film, comics to cooking, and everything in between. A candid, cosy mix of curious chats, wholesome laughs, and creative musings with local artists, designers and creative thinkers from Cornwall, the rest of the UK and beyond.
The name 'Piccalilli Tuesdays' is derived from two key inspirations from each of the shows hosts. 'Piccalilli' (as described in Episode 8) is seen as an analogy of all of the higgledy piggledy bits that make up an individuals creative process, similarly to a jar of piccalilli - mixed, bright, sweet, sour, imperfect and versatile. Meanwhile 'Tuesdays' takes direct influence from a hand-painted typographic poster by painter Emily Powell, titled 'Tuesday is a Nice Friendly Day'.
The warm, homey vibes of the show are carried through in the brand's visual identity, taking hues directly from a spoonful of classic Branston's Classic Piccalilli, to create a cosy, welcoming vibe that pairs beautifully the prominent puffy, marshmallow typemark and it's soft, retro-inspired subheading. Supporting illustrations of the co-hosts used for Spotify cover art also lends itself seamlessly to merchandise like stickers and badges.
